Olipes has announced that it is joining the CollectiveSystem of Extended Producer Responsibility (SCRAP) set up by Genci, a company dedicated to the management of professional packaging that has become disused or waste. In this way, Olipes reaffirms its commitment to protecting the environment and to eco-responsible behaviour, as established in the principles of the company’s management system.

With this agreement, Olipes guarantees strict compliance with the requirements set out in the Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) scheme, which came into force on 1 January 2025 for all domestic, commercial or industrial packaging introduced into the Spanish market.

From now on, Genci will be responsible for collecting Olipes’ professional packaging waste throughout the country and ensuring it is recycled correctly in accordance with current legislation. Genci is the only ‘SCRAP’ organisation with proven experience in the management of professional packaging waste authorised to operate throughout Spain.

“Partnering with Genci is another step forward in our sustainability policies. In fact, we have integrated this commitment into our quality management system as a way of ensuring that all our processes, and at all stages until the product reaches the market and even in additional services such as technical assistance or after-sales service, are in line with environmentally responsible behaviour. In this way we are also responding to the demands of a society that is increasingly aware of the ecological aspects of industries. For this reason, here at Olipes we will continue to implement policies for the prevention of pollution and the preservation of the environment in all our processes, while also promoting good environmental practices”, said Fernando Díaz, co-CEO of Olipes.
