Olipes is attending DRC Mining Week, Africa’s most influential mining conference and exhibition, held annually in the Democratic Republic of Congo, with its wide range of lubricating oils and greases for the mining sector. This year’s edition takes place from 12-14 June in the facilities annexed to the Grand Karavia Hotel in Lubumbashi, the second largest city in the country and very close to the Zambian border. Olipes will be exhibiting at stands E9 and E10.

DRC Mining Week brings together more than 1,300 mining industry delegates from 57 countries, an ideal meeting to present Olipes’ range of products. In this sense, at its stand there is a wide selection of Maxigras greases that, in their multiple formulations, protect heavy machinery and bearings with the maximum guarantee, whether in the presence of water, with heavy workloads or with high environmental pollution, thanks to the exclusive manufacturing technology developed by Olipes.

These three grease models deserve a special mention:

Maxigras C45 Li-EP: Extreme Pressure (EP) and multifunctional lithium grease, improved by the plastic deformation of its micro-additives and formulated for lubrication under tough mechanical conditions and high lubrication frequency. Free of fillers, charges and heavy metals, it guarantees cost-effective maintenance, reducing costs for mechanical or lubrication interventions, and stands out for its high anti-wear, anti-corrosion, anti-oxidation and anti-rust properties. Available in NLGI 000-00, 0, 1 and 2 consistencies for all types of automatic lubrication systems.

Maxigras Complex Li-EP: complex lithium grease for high temperature applications, reduces relubrication frequencies by up to 80% compared to conventional lithium greases, which has a direct impact on cost savings, achieving superior wear protection, with an excellent Extreme Pressure (EP) capability. Its complex thickener technology allows the grease adhering to the rolling elements to remain fluid, while the rest forms a protective ‘screen’ preventing the action of external contaminants, such as dust and water, among others.

Maxigras 102: water-resistant lubricating grease, formulated with the latest generation of calcium complex sulphonate thickener, specially developed to protect bearings in extreme situations of loads, shocks, presence of humidity, high temperatures and possible chemical attacks. Its application ranges from the general greasing of all types of mechanisms to lubrication in rolling mills or grilles by means of sliding pads, lubrication of bearings in submerged mud pumps, drill bars and all types of elements subjected to weathering in extreme weather conditions.

On the other hand, in such a demanding working environment as mining, compressor hammers and pneumatic or hydraulic drilling tools must be perfectly protected. To achieve this, OIipes offers its mining sector customers its complete range of Flow Hammer drilling oils, which offer excellent resistance when working with water. Their special formulation also reduces the potential environmental damage that could be caused to the drilled ground or aquifers both above and below ground.

To lubricate air compressors and vacuum pumps, as well as hydraulic systems, Olipes also has specific products such as Flow Syn CP, a line of latest-generation synthetic oils especially designed for the lubrication of compressors that operate at high pressures and flow rates, under extreme conditions and which, depending on their viscosity, are suitable for all types of air compressors, rotary and reciprocating, regardless of whether they are static or portable.

All production sectors, including mining, are placing special importance on the environment. For that reason, Olipes will showcase its products specially designed to be used where a traditional oil could cause a negative impact on the ecosystem in which it is used. This is the case of its Maxifluid 46 BBO synthetic hydraulic fluids, which are perfect for use in machinery working in both tunnels and environmentally sensitive environments, due to their biodegradability and HFDU (fire resistant) classificati

Finally, Olipes is also showcasing its range of engine and transmission lubricating oils at its stand, specially developed for machines from manufacturers such as CAT, Komatsu, Fiat-Hitachi and Liebherr, among others.

“Olipes is present at this edition of DRC Mining Week because it is the perfect place to showcase the wide variety of specific products that we offer to the mining industry: almost one hundred references specially formulated to offer a very high performance in such a demanding environment as that of mining. Our products are also ISO 9001 and 14001 certified, as well as having various OEM and API approvals. And something we are particularly proud of: Olipes’ after-sales services include an in-service analysis of greases and lubricating oils, training, and technical assistance both online and in person”, explains Fernando Diaz, co-CEO of Olipes.
