PortuguêsOlipes has developed the new Averoil 15W40 RDE, a lubricant specially developed for use in lorries, buses (both urban and inter-city) and heavy off-road vehicles.
The acronym RDE, forming its name, refers to the phrase “Real Driving Emission”, the latest and most stringent method of fuel economy certification, which is intended to make vehicles more environmentally friendly.
To help meet these stringent protocols, Olipes’ new engine oil incorporates a new additive technology into its formulation. Averoil 15W40 RDE has a reduced ash, phosphorus and sulphur content, which is essential for optimum lubrication and excellent performance in Euro VI and earlier engines equipped with SCR aftertreatment systems, and especially those with particulate filters (DPF), as well as cooled EGR valves (C-EGR) and diesel oxidation catalysts (DOC), which require low-sulphur diesel fuels.
“Averoil 15W40 RDE is the ideal multigrade lubricant for those looking for maximum reliability in all operating conditions. Also available in SAE 10W-30 and 10W-40 viscosities, to ensure easy cold starts, whatever the ambient temperature, while guaranteeing maximum engine protection and durability. Furthermore, with the additives used in its formulation, it is compatible with all types of diesel and biodiesel, making it the ideal engine lubricant for the latest generation of environmentally friendly vehicles, as it complies with strict exhaust emissions regulations, facilitating the reduction of fuel consumption”, says Fernando Díaz, co-CEO of Olipes.
Averoil 15W40 RDE is part of the so-called THPD (Top High-Performance Diesel) lubricants and is designed to be compatible with LNT (Lean NOx Trap) and Urea SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) technologies, necessary for meeting the NEDC or WLTP requirements, but also with the RDE test. The latter requires powerful and complex DeNOx technology, consisting of three phases: new catalysts, to reduce emissions; insulation, which improves fuel economy and catalytic performance; and the logic controller, which manages the DeNOx and DePM strategy. This set of measures, in addition to reducing emissions, ensures fuel economy.
Made with synthetic bases, Averoil 15W40 RDE is a state-of-the-art engine oil offering API CK-4, Renault RLD-4, Scania LDF-2 and Volvo VDS-4.5 certified quality level. It is available in 20-litre, 200-litre and 1,000-litre containers.
