Víctor Manuel Manzano from Valdemorillo works in gardening, gathering wood, and pruning. His lorry is fitted with the PALFINGER Crane PK 15002 Performance articulating jib crane, with eight telescopic sections and a maximum operating height of 12.3 metres.

He was using a molybdenum bisulphur grease (black grease) for general greasing on the crane and was used to the grease gathering dust, leaves, and splinters during operation, which would then solidify when the extensions telescoped, compacting the substances.

VICMAQ, an OLIPES partner for heavy machinery, offered him a sample of MAXIGRAS T6, our special anti-dampness and dust grease, which provided him with a more than satisfactory result.

MAXIGRAS T6 from
OLIPES is a synthetic grease made with specially selected additives. It has a very light colour, is resistant to washing with water, and is compatible with Teflon pucks, plastics, joints and seals. These features mean that, for someone who uses this type of machinery in their line of work, it is a highly durable grease that does not stain, that reduces maintenance costs, and avoids the build-up of dust and dirt on telescopic sections, guides, bolts, cogs, and skids.

As a specifically anti-dust grease, it is recommended for the lubrication of slider pads in telescopic sections because there is no compacted residue created at the movement limits due to it not picking up dust. This avoids scratching guides, extends the operating life of the pads, and therefore reduces play in the telescopic sections. Furthermore, the slider pads function as stops inside the telescopic section guides, meaning that excessive wear eventually generated unstable behaviour in the crane.

For someone who operates this type of crane, this kind of play is a dangerous enemy that, when coupled with poor lubrication, can lead to a serious accident. The more the telescopic sections extend away from the crane’s boom, any irregular sliding movement generates vibrations, oscillations, and sudden movements, which, when up to six tonnes of weight is held up above ten metres in the air, is no joke.

The excellent EP capacity for bearing extreme loads, its ease of application with a brush, and its good resistance to water all allow this grease to be used in a wide range of applications with an unbeatable cost-performance ratio. Our client, Víctor Manzano, also lubricates the attachable support legs on his lorry crane with MAXIGRAS T6... its his go-to grease.
