Rubén Sánchez Basoco, from Higuera de las Dueñas (ÁVILA), contacted OLIPES via his distributor of spare parts and supplies for machinery, and raised the issue of lubrication problems for his STIHL professional chainsaws, especially annoying because his main activity involves pruning trees and cutting firewood.
The first problem he told us about was that he had had to replace both the cutting chain and the guide bar due to insufficient lubrication by the oil he was using on too many occasions, in his professional opinion. In addition to this first problem, oil consumption was too high, to the point that for each tank of petrol consumed, he needed to refill the oil tank.
But his difficulties did not stop there and when he cut thicker logs, the oil dripped down the groove of the cut and the chain burned, forcing him to have to sharpen it constantly, in addition to having to work amidst unbearable smoke.

In addition, because it is an oil created from highly refined bases, it does not obstruct the filter and helps to better cool the chain and the guide bar, avoiding excessive wear and seizing.
Following the OLIPES oil test, Rubén Sánchez has managed to put an end to his lubrication problems with his STIHL chainsaws, which last many more working hours without the chain requiring sharpening due to overheating, and with a consumption that has been reduced to less than one oil tank for every two tanks of petrol. A fairly significant saving.
